More Mind Mapping

First, go here and download the free map "viewer" from mindjet.com - it allows you to view Mindjet Mindmaps, but not edit or create them.  It's like downloading Adobe's PDF viewer - it gives you access to the files, but not access to the software's create and editing power.

Second, download this file and look at it MindManager's Viewer 6 software (that you just downloaded):

Download mindjet_mindmanager_mind_mapping_2.mmap

The map is a solid overview of background information and how-to resources.

If you don't want to do that, here are a few links from the above map:

1.  Here's some general information on mind mapping, from the UK granddaddy of it all - Tony Buzan
2.  A NYTimes article that summarizes the concepts and reviews two pieces of software
3.  Here and here (click around on his sidebar "Essays for you to read") for some interesting blog entries
4.  And here is a list of discussion groups/user forums
5.  Here's an example of the wealth of training materials out there on mind mapping

But I hope you download the viewer software and look at the map, because it has way more information on it, and besides, it's a great map that does a better job than my cursory outline.

I'm in the final throes of working on my teaching files for next week, and this blog entry counted as "work" in figuring out some details of map making - !
